Is my audio file uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your own device — your file never leaves it.
Why do I need to keep the tab open while converting?
The conversion happens in this browser tab, not on a server. If you close the tab or keep it in background, your OS suspends it in the background and the conversion stops.
What's the difference between the mild, strong, and none presets?
Mild and strong both boost speech clarity and even out volume for bone-conduction headphones — strong applies it more aggressively, for noisier/splashier conditions. None skips just that boost; channels and playback speed still apply if you set them. If you also keep stereo, don't set a speed, and your chosen output format already matches the source file's, it skips conversion entirely, for an instant, lossless download — otherwise it re-encodes into your chosen format with whatever processing you did ask for.
Can I just download the original file with no changes at all?
Yes — uncheck "Convert audio" next to Processing options. The whole options panel disappears (none of it applies) and every episode you convert after that comes through exactly as the podcast host serves it, instantly, with its original format and quality untouched.
What file formats are supported?
Upload almost anything your browser's engine can read (mp3, wav, m4a, flac, ogg, opus, aac, aiff). Convert to mp3, m4a, mp4, opus, ogg, wav, or flac.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, about 1.5GB per file — the practical ceiling of the in-browser conversion engine's memory. Typical 1–3 hour episodes are well within this.
Does this work on my phone?
Yes — iOS Safari, Chrome, Android, desktop browsers are all supported. (iOS specifically runs a slightly different, more compatible engine mode under the hood to avoid a browser-level bug.)
Can I get a specific old episode, not just the recent ones?
Yes — paste that episode's own link from Apple Podcasts (the one with ?i= in the URL) and it resolves directly to that episode instead of only showing the most recent ones. This works as far back as Apple's directory allows searching, which is a show's latest 200 episodes.
Can I convert audio from YouTube, Spotify, or Pocket Casts?
Not directly — those platforms don't allow this kind of extraction. Download the audio yourself elsewhere and use the Upload files tab instead.
Why did my conversion fail?
Usually a transient issue — some ad-inserted episodes serve a corrupted/truncated file on one attempt but a clean one on retry. Just try converting again.
Why does converting a long episode to WAV or FLAC fail?
WAV and FLAC are uncompressed/lossless, so a long episode (well past an hour) can decode to close to a gigabyte of raw audio data — more than your browser will let the converter hold in memory at once. Convert to mp3, m4a, opus, or ogg instead (far smaller in memory for the same length), or try on a device with more RAM.
